PRIMARY VALUES

LIFE ISSUES and PRINCIPLES

Of all human rights a Right to Life is paramount, since, once that right has been taken away, no other rights are applicable t
o the person concerned. In contemporary society this inalienable and intrinsic right is being violated in the case of the weakest and most vulnerable human beings at both ends of life -- the preborn and the aged.
The sick and disabled are also in jeopardy. This is a result of militant lobbying for abortion and euthanasia.

Such lobbying is evident in countries throughout the world. The anti-life agenda is being aggressively pushed by international organisations, being rampant in the European Union and the United Nations.

Our role is to work to replace a culture of death with a culture of life

ANALYSIS OF THE EUTHANASIA DEBATE

Medical science is about preserving life, not taking life. This has been clear throughout history

On oath to uphold life, The Hippocratic Oath, which originated in Ancient Greece, predating Christianity by centuries, was, until very recent times, taken by all newly qualified doctors prior to entering the medical profession. It makes informative reading:

The Hippocratic Oath

I swear by Apollo Physician and Asclepius and Hygieia and Panaceia and all the gods, and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfil according to my ability and judgment this oath and this covenant:

To hold him who has taught me this art as equal to my parents and to live my life in partnership with him, and if he is in need of money to give him a share of mine, and to regard his offspring as equal to my brothers in male lineage and to teach them this art–if they desire to learn it–without fee and covenant; to give a share of precepts and oral instruction and all the other learning to my sons and to the sons of him who has instructed me and to pupils who have signed the covenant and have taken the oath according to medical law, but to no one else.

I will apply dietic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice.

I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody if asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.

I will not use the knife, not even on sufferers from stone, but will withdraw in favor of such men as are engaged in this work.

Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations with both female and male persons, be they free or slaves.

What I may see or hear in the course of treatment or even outside of the treatment in regard to the life of men, which on no account one must spread abroad, I will keep myself holding such things shameful to be spoken about.

If I fulfil this oath and do not violate it, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and art, being honored with fame among all men for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of all this be my lot.

THE FAMILY

The optimum welfare of a child is achieved when reared in a home with a mother and a father in a stable married relationship.

Such parents have a natural responsibility for the protection, nurture and upbringing of those children whom they have
brought into the world.

DEFEND THE NATURAL FAMILY

ANY NATION IS ONLY AS STRONG AS ITS FAMILIES

UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) defined the family as the fundamental group unit of society,
entitled to protection by society and by the State
(Article 16)

The United Nations, however, has undergone a change in recent decades,
starting with the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989), marking a weakening
of parental rights, and driving a wedge between parent and child.

This is symptomatic of an international onslaught against the natural family.

This onslaught is a feature of the culture wars

THREATS TO THE FAMILY INCLUDE:

SEX EDUCATION THAT ROBS YOUNG CHILDREN OF THEIR INNOCENCE

CHILDREN INDOCTRINATED WITH VALUES AT VARIANCE WITH PARENTAL VALUES

BULLYING ACTIVITIES TO DESTROY THE NATURAL FAMILY
BY REDEFINING IT TO INCLUDE SAME-SEX "MARRIAGE

DEFEND THE NATURAL FAMILY

AMONG THE MOST IMPORTANT OF HUMAN RIGHTS, IS A RIGHT To live in accordance with one's values,
religious or otherwise, and to pass on those values to one's children,
without interference from those who seek to change
society, by indoctrinating youth in violation of parental rights.

Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children (Article 26)

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change

his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest
his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.
(Article 18)

In a wide diversity of cultures throughout human history there has been a recognition
of the natural family, and a recognition of moral principles and religious belief, notwithstanding
the fact that, human nature being what it is, various distortions and abuses occur.

An ability to distinguish between truth and falsehood, good and evil, is endemic in the human person,
and is perceptible to human reason.
A strikingly similar sense of morality, which cuts across cultures and religions, is evident.

These same characteristics are clearly perceptible in contemporary developing nations,
in areas which are as yet intact from the ravages of modern Western socialistic propaganda.
Meddling in the internal governance of these nations is apparent on the part of Western power structures,
NGOs, and in the

Morality proves to be an obstacle to those whose aim it is to radically change society.
Religion is targeted for destruction simply because of the moral principles which it enjoins.

The values of the Judeo-Christian tradition, which have made our country the great nation it is,
are targeted for elimination.  Ironically legislation which claims to be anti-discriminatory,
unjustly discriminatesagainst those of religious faith.

"Human Rights" organisations internationally, including the Australian Human Rights Commission
are effectively attacking
the basic rights of freedom of religion and freedom of conscience,
